Grade 8 Steel Yellow Zinc SAE Flat Washers. Grade 8 flat washers have tighter tolerances on thickness and are manufactured from a stronger grade of steel, they are also heat treated. They are used between the bearing surface of the fastener and the part for which you are installing the bolt to be attached. Washers improve the stress distribution.
