5/8"-11 A325 Hex Structural Bolt
ASTM A325 Type 1 Structural Bolt: Structural bolts are commonly used in structural steel joint situations in heavy construction. These types of bolts are designed to be tightened close to their proof strength, in order to create significant bolt tension. The standard states in which the bolts must be tightened to are at least 70% of their tensile strength. These bolts have a thicker and wider head to more effectively distribute the load. This modified geometry is often referred to as heavy hex geometry. The length of a hex bolt is determined by measuring from under the head of the bolt to the base of the threads.
